OUR MANIFESTO

ZEGNART

ZEGNART is not an art program.

Art has always been part of ZEGNA – not as decoration, but as a companion to its evolution.

From the beginning, our Founder Ermenegildo Zegna understood that industry, nature, and culture must be designed together.

ZEGNA does not acquire works.
It commissions them.

ZEGNART brings together all ZEGNA’s artistic initiatives – not as objects, but as defining moments in the brand’s history.

Art was never added.
It was built in.

Art is not something to be seen.
It is something that shapes how we see.
A CENTURY OF PATRONAGE

SHAPING A CULTURAL LANDSCAPE

ZEGNART is our framework for art and culture. It reflects our long-standing commitment to art, rooted in the vision of our Founder, Ermenegildo Zegna, and encompasses all ZEGNA’s artistic initiatives - past, present, and evolving across generations of the Zegna family.

From the first artwork he commissioned in the 1920s, Ermenegildo Zegna believed that art and beauty should be part of everyday life. In Trivero, alongside the development of the Lanificio, our wool mill, he commissioned artists such as Ettore Pistoletto Olivero and Otto Maraini, as well as landscape architect Pietro Porcinai, shaping an environment where industry, nature, and culture could coexist.

Fondazione Zegna further structured this commitment through site - specific projects in Oasi Zegna and exhibitions at Casa Zegna, our historical archive and cultural centre in Trivero.

Unlike a traditional collection, these works are never acquired - they are commissioned. Developed in direct relation to the places, materials, and values that define ZEGNA, the collection has quietly evolved across four generations.

PERMANENT

THE ZEGNA COLLECTION

Designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, ZEGNA’s Milan headquarters integrate art and architecture into a continuous narrative. Echoing the atmosphere of Oasi Zegna, the works become part of a living park – exploring themes of sustainability, global connection, and material identity.
