The ZEGNA Product Passport is an exclusive feature available for select ZEGNA products. It provides comprehensive information about your item, certifies its ownership, and ensures a tamper-proof digital stamp of authenticity by utilising NFC and Aura Blockchain technology.
At the moment, the ZEGNA Product Passport is available exclusively for products made with Vellus Aureum fabric.
An NFC (Near Field Communication) tag is a small electronic device that facilitates communication between two NFC-enabled devices when they are close to each other. This technology allows for quick and easy transfer of information on products, often used for accessing digital content or services by simply tapping or scanning the tag with a smartphone.
The NFC tag is embedded in a neutral black pocket attached with the care label / VAM in each garment.
To access your ZEGNA Product Passport, follow these steps:
- Use your smartphone to scan the NFC tag. For garments, the tag is located next to the care label or VAM;
- You will be directed to the product page, where you can find detailed information related to your item;
- Tap the ’Activate Passport’ button, then confirm your country or select a different one from the dropdown menu;
- Once the certificate is active and the product is added to your collection, you will be able to download the PDF containing all relevant product information.

The ZEGNA Product Passport enhances transparency by leveraging NFC and Aura Blockchain technology to provide immutable records of the product’s history – including details on the sourcing of materials and production processes – and is available for select ready-to-wear products.
You can access detailed traceability information such as:
1. The country of origin of the raw materials for garments
2. The main manufacturing process and locations
Traceability, when supported by any of the certification schemes adopted by ZEGNA (see Sustainability Report for further details), is crucial because it ensures the authenticity, quality, and ethical sourcing of materials. It also provides transparency within the entire production process, reinforcing the luxury and excellence associated with ZEGNA products.
No, the traceability information recorded on the Aura Blockchain cannot be altered. This guarantees the integrity and reliability of the information provided in the ZEGNA Product Passport.
